So will das Unternehmen nun insgesamt acht statt drei Standorte schließen.

Update: Pastebud's servers seem to be getting a solid traffic hit this morning, so the page, and service, might be hit-and-miss for a while after this post. Also, a note about copying email text is added below.
At its heart, Pastebud is two bookmarklets—COPY and PASTE, naturally—that you install in your mobile Safari browser. If you sync your iPhone/touch to grab bookmarks from a desktop browser like Safari or Internet Explorer, it's easier to just head to Pastebud's site, drag the bookmarklets to your browser toolbar, and sync your device. If not, you can still head to Pastebud's site in mobile Safari and add the bookmarks, but you'll have to manually edit them to remove all the formatting before the javascript: code—something users of the Instapaper bookmarking app are all too familiar with.
Once you've installed the bookmarks (and probably re-arranged them higher in your list), you can head to any web page containing text you want to copy to a web form or email. Hit the "COPY" bookmark, and all the page text gets sent to Pastebud and put into a JavaScript-powered applet, where you select the particular text to copy by tapping and dragging to select.

Million Euro Questions Everyday
Yet the case against Intel is not chiefly about money that might one day “sponsor the European taxpayer”, in the words of Neelie Kroes, Europe’s competition commissioner (the fine will sit in a blocked bank account until the case is decided). The main question is: under what conditions can a quasi-monopoly such as Intel give discounts and rebates to computer-makers and retailers?
The commission does not think that such practices are illegal per se. But it claims that Intel’s discounts and rebates were often conditional on the exclusion of its rival, AMD. The commission says that in one case Intel paid Media-Saturn Holding, Germany’s largest electronics retailer, to sell only computers with Intel chips inside, and in another case a computer-maker had to agree to buy at least 95% of the chips in its business PCs from Intel to qualify for rebates.
Computer-makers have to play along, the commission argues, because they depend on Intel for a majority of their chips—a result of the fact that AMD’s production capacity is limited. If a firm decided to buy as many AMD chips as possible, it could end up worse off since it might then have to pay more for the chips purchased from Intel. To overcome this handicap, AMD would have to price its processors below cost, and perhaps even pay its customers. In one case, according to the commission, AMD offered a computer-maker 1m free chips, but it ended up taking only 160,000 of them.
Intel says the claims against it are false. It does not deny making extensive use of discounts and rebates, but insists that it has never required customers to agree not to buy from AMD in order to obtain a discount, and has never raised prices when customers bought from AMD. What is more, says Bruce Sewell, Intel’s general counsel, no harm seems to have been done: AMD is alive, chip prices are falling and innovation is rampant.

Very Nice
You've probably seen adverts promising to submit your web site to "one million" (or similar astronomical numbers) search engines.
When you think about these ads, it should raise two questions:
1. Are there really "one million" engines?
2. Do you really need to be listed in a lot of these sites?
Here's our opinion:-
- There are probably a few hundred (?), real, general-purpose, search engines, as well as some more that focus on specialist topics (example: one which only contains sites relating to the chemical industry). (If you want to make your own assessment of the number, I'd suggest that you try looking in DMOZ to get an idea of how many search sites they list).
- There are some more search-sites which do not have their own search technology but simply display results from one or more other engines. (so you probably can't separately submit to these anyway)
- When you search the web, you probably use one of the leading search sites or portals like Yahoo!, Altavista, or Google, etc. So, probably, do your friends, so do their friends... and so on!
The obvious questions are:
- If few people are searching in one of the lesser search sites, is there much point in being listed there?
- And how can a submission service claim one million then? Of course, it does depend on what you count as a "search engine", but some submission services could increase the number that they count by, for example, including Free For All Links (FFA) pages.
Some experts in SEO recommending optimizing their site for just a few of the leading search engines and not even bothering with the rest. Why? Because they believe that a sustained high rank, for a popular keyword, on any one of the leading portals could generate lots of traffic.
Summary
If you want to: go ahead submit to one million "search engines".
Or you could: narrow your focus - and concentrate on getting listed, and high ranked, in the top few dozen.
